Intent
The national curriculum for geography aims to ensure that all pupils:
At St Peter’s, we have worked together with Old Cleeve, and other schools in the Trust to develop an overview of the curriculum. Each year key stage has been set specific subject areas with differing pathways dependent on the AB curriculum. Each pathway has aims and expectations of teaching and learning. By following this document, we will be working on developing children’s knowledge and skills that meet the expectation of Geographer by the time they leave the school.
The geography curriculum fosters a healthy curiosity in children about their surroundings, from their local environment to the wider world by either focusing in and scanning out or starting big and honing in. Children of St Peter’s will understand their place as a local and global citizen.
