QUEST STORY - WOW LESSON

Monday 28th November

KQ:  Can I understand why fire was so important to everyone?

I asked the children if they would like to eat raw sausage and egg.  We all agreed that it was revolting.

We then looked at cooked sausages and egg and decided we would all like to eat food that is cooked.

I asked the children to answer the following questions:-

Why is fire important?

Ruby:  Fire is important because it warms us up.

Thomas:  Fire is important because if we didn’t have fire our apartment would be very cold.

Jamal:  We can cook food on fires

How do we cook food today?

Danny:  We can cook food in an oven.

Alfie:  We cook sausages in an oven and wait until they are ready.

Niamh: We can cook our food in a microwave.

Lexi:  We can cook food on a BBQ.

Archie JA:  We can cook food on the hob.

How do we keep our homes warm?

Bradley:  We can use electric fires.

Kara:  Some homes have radiators.

Archie:  You can use wood.

Mrs Saffrey:  I have a wood burning stove to burn my wood and keep warm.

Niamh:  Some people have gas fires

What did people used to use?

Georgia:  They used to have open fires to cook on.
