National Assessment Results

St Peters is a First School meaning that we teach children from Reception to Year 4.

This means that children sit statutory national assessments as follows:

  • EYFS Profiles at the end of Reception but covering their time in nursery also.
  • Phonics tests in Year 1 and Year 2 for those children that did not pass in Year 1.
  • KS1 Teacher Assessments which are based upon SATs tests taken in June of Year 2 and the teachers assessment against National Curriculum Assessment criteria.

This information has to be reported to Somerset County Council and the Government. It will form a large part of the predicted outcomes for children as they move on to middle school and taking GCSEs.

We also continually assess children against ARE (Age Related Expectations which you can find on our website pages on our curriculum.
